Where is this poem? I don't ever remember rnieadg this one. Is it in The Colossus? I've always liked Lady Lazarus, especially since I read it after rnieadg The Bell Jar. I was so moved by her honesty and her bravery in speaking her own truth, but I think my favorites (at this time in my life) are Mirror, and Cut, both in Crossing the Water. I love the way Cut begins:What a thrill-My thumb instead of an onion. The top quite goneExcept for a sort of hingeAn entire poem devoted to cutting your thumb, and so much more. |
