Punk was a strange thing. There were a lot of bands that were eallcd punk that didn't fit with the rest. I like to think of punk as an attitude more than a genre of music.To me the Clash, Sex Pistols and bands that had the same energy and as the British say, piss , are definitely inside of the punk realm, but there are many others that had distinctly different sounds that still fall within the genre.I'm sure it can be disected into an infinite number of slivers.
